To find the latest contraceptive alternatives, now the experts are now examining a more effective male contraceptive, the injection of testosterone.Based on the trials of 1045 healthy men aged 20-45 years in China, testosterone injections proved to be effective as male contraceptives.

The respondents who have partners of childbearing age are injected with 500 milligrams of testosterone formula every month for 30 months.The results showed a failure rate (pregnancy) is only 1.1 per 100 men over a period of 24 months.The researchers also reported no side effects found in the use of these injections.

"Our results suggest a hormonal contraceptive for men could be a potential choice, friendly, and effective for men," said Dr.Yi-Qun Gu, of the National Research Institute for Family Planning , Beijing, China.The results of the study will be published in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism.
